NAMI-Indiana, Kokomo affiliate is beginning NAMI C.A.R.E. on January 20th, 2004. National Alliance for the Mentally Ill has a local affiliate in Kokomo. NAMI-Indiana is the foremost advocate at the state level for persons affected by severe and persistent mental illness and the leading proponent on consumer and family involvement in care, treatment and recovery. NAMI C.A.R.E. will meet twice a month on the first and third Tuesdays at 7:30pm.
NAMI C.A.R.E. is a peer-based, mutual support group program for individuals facing the challenges of recovering from any serious mental illness. Led by consumers, for consumers with the principles of support designed to empower its members.

NAMI C.A.R.E. will include support, education and WRAP. WRAP stands for Wellness Recovery Action Plan. It is a process of looking at needed tasks for staying well. It will be done once every other month.
