The Black Hat Society started in April of 2003. It's inspiration came from the Red Hat Society, which is also a great organization. But, unlike that organization, our members must be at least 21 years of age and wear black hats to all functions. (No ball caps or visors, unless otherwise announced for special events.) All members must be open to new adventures and willing to participate in community fund-raisers.

There is a $10 membership fee and $5 per month dues. This money is used for special events and materials used in our meetings and charity functions.

We are a fun and entertaining group of women. We enjoy life and have a great time no matter the event. We try new adventures whether it's eating at a restaurant, trying a new craft or taking a class. We've started a Black Hat Society Cookbook. We've raised money for important causes, and we have learned to dance!

We are 30 strong and welcome all new members.
