The Purpose to the Optimist Club is:
- To develop Optimism as a philosophy of life utilizing the tenets of the Optimist Creed
- To promote an active interest in good government and civic affairs
- To inspire respect for the law
- To promote patriotism and work for international accord and friendship among people
- To aid and encourage the development of youth, in the belief that the giving of one's self in service to others will advance the well-being of humankind, community life and the world
There will soon be a new Optimist Club in Kokomo!
The Optimist Club of Kokomo is now in formation. The Optimist are an international service organization somewhat like the Kiwanis, Lions and Rotary. There are 58 Optimist Clubs located within the Indiana North District and the Kokomo Club will be the geographic center of the District. Optimist Clubs are dedicated to providing quality programs and activities for the youth of the community.
The Optimist Club currently meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays (please call for location.) More information on Optimist International may be obtained at www.optimist.org
