Damon's founder Irv Rossman opened his first restaurant on the east side of Columbus, Ohio, in September 1979. Damon's operated as a casual dining restaurant for the next six years, providing its guests excellent service and a menu featuring the best ribs in the industry. A trend-setting event occurred in 1985, changing the future of the chain. Damon's opened its first location featuring a dining room with four giant screen TVs and tabletop speakers for total audio and video programming. Damon's current ownership acquired the corporation in 1989. Their guidance and restructuring formed the foundation for the international expansion of the Damon's concept and, in 1996, Damon's 100th restaurant turned on the grill. Damon's has evolved a great deal in its short lifetime. Today, with more than 130 locations, Damon's is recognized as one of the finest in casual dining. |
