The Wildcat Guardians is an organization dedicated to improving the health and beauty of Wildcat Creek. We are involved in several ongoing programs, including: Adopt-A-River our primary program of stewardship for Wildcat Creek. Guardian Section Coordinators regularly visit their adopted section of the creek, working with local landowners whenever possible to pick up trash and check general conditions. Discover Wildcat Creek - This is an opportunity to help communities throughout the watershed experience the beauty of the creek environment. Upon request, Guardians escort people on canoe trips through Wildcat country. These trips are a way of teaching others to respect the creek and join us in protecting this wonderful natural resource. Water Quality Monitoring Guardians regularly visit specific sites along the creek and major tributaries to take water samples and conduct tests of water quality. These tests include chemistry and survey of aquatic organisms. The Guardians are also involved in many community projects and events. If you are interested in any of these programs and want to become a member, a membership form must be submitted to the address above. Annual membership dues are $15.00 for individuals or $25.00 for families and are tax-deductible. |
