| The friends of the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library is an organization of volunteers/people who have a concern for the Library's welfare and assist the Library in various activities throughout the year. The Friends in Kokomo was started in the mid 80's and has a current membership of 153. Over the last decade, the Friends of the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library have raised over $50,000 and used that money to further library activities. The Friends hold at least two book sales each year, one in the spring and one in the fall. Members may attend a presale before the book sale is open to the public. A newsletter, The Friends Connection, is mailed to members prior to each book sale.
