Members of the Local 103 operate equipment ranging in size from small trenchers to tower cranes topping out hotels. Each year Local 103 indentures approximately 50 new apprentices into our three-year training program. During the course of their training, apprentices will be instructed on nomenclature, equipment safety, unionism and their benefit entitlements. Classes are also available on Blueprint Reading and welding for apprentices and journeymen who want to take advantage of the 40-hour training programs. Apprentices may attain Journeyman status after completing 6000 hours of combined on the job training (OJT) and related mandatory classroom and training site hours. Applications for the Apprenticeship Program may be completed at the Chesterfield Training Site, Monday through Friday from 9:00am � 3:00pm.
International Union of Operating Engineers Local 103 takes pride in their skills in building new roads, resurfacing roads, bridges, pipelines, new sewage and storm pipes and building.
