| The purpose of Club Kokomo Roadrunners is to encourage people to recognize the healthful benefits of running and walking, and to promote recreational, competitive running and walking. Club Kokomo sponsors the Haynes-Apperson 4 mile run/3 mile walk along with other, smaller races. Club Kokomo has the Mike Cowen Memorial Scholarship Fund from which scholarships have been given since 1999. In December, Club Kokomo has its Charity Run from which all collected funds are distributed in the community. Club Kokomo also participates in Relay for Life, held in Kokomo, and Race for the Cure in Indianapolis.
