What is Workforce Development Strategies, Inc. ?

WDSI is a private not-for-profit corporation serving as the catalyst for workforce development in the six-county region of North Central Indiana. The corporation has a 57-member board, identified as the Workforce Investment Board (WIB), comprised of key leaders from business and industry, education, economic development, labor, community based organizations, and one-stop partner agencies.

WDSI, in partnership with the Local Elected Officials, is responsible for the establishment of the overall direction for the local workforce development system in Cass, Fulton, Howard, Miami, Tipton and Wabash counties. WDSI meets these needs through:

• Identifying the workforce development issues in the North Central Indiana region and assisting with resolution of those issues
• Convening forums of individuals to address workforce development issues
• Identifying resources to address the resolution of workforce development issues in the region
• Providing oversight to ensure that an excellent one-stop service delivery system is available in the region
• Gathering and producing meaningful information that identifies employer needs and employee skill levels
